Corneal Topography: Principles and Applications in Refractive Vision Corrections

We will present corneal topography principles, ANSI standard and clinical applications in refractive vision corrections. Various concepts and map displays are discussed in detail in context of their clinical aspects. In particular, we will discuss corneal power, corneal axis, corneal astigmatism, corneal aspheirity, corneal shape, corneal surface elevation and corneal surface irregularity (in the context of keratoconus indication).
We will also discuss the aspherical ablation algorithms based on prolate shape, free axis, and ellipsoid model using corneal topography and subjective manifest refraction. Both theory and clinical evidences will be discussed.
