A 50-year old man complained of painless blurring of vision of the right eye for four months getting worse in the recent two months. He was diagnosed at a local hospital with uveitius and was treated with anti-inflammatory medication without response. On examination his visual acuity was hand motion in the right eye and 20/20 in the left eye.On examination the right eye show anterior chamber flare with iris neo-vascularization and vitreous hemorrhage. The anterior and posteria segments of the left eye were unremarkable. The ultrasound of the right eye showed uninformed echo in the vitreous cavity and dense echos in the eye wall of the posterior segment. The chest x-ray was normal on admission. He had not prior significant clinical medical history.A vitrectomy was performed, and as the vitreous hemorrhage was cleared multiple yellowish nodules were observed in the posterior segment and the eye was enuculated. The presentation showed details of histopathologic features of the enucleated eye. |
