The expression of enhanced green fluorescence protein(EGFP) in cultured bovine trabecular meshwork cells

Objective: To study the expression of enhanced green fluorescence protein(EGFP) in cultured bovine trabecular meshwork cells(BTMC).
Methods: Reanimating the Pegfp-C1 strain, Pegfp-C1 was extracted and identified. The Pegfp-C1 was embedded in lipofectamine and transfected into BTMC. The fluorescence intensity of BTMC after transfected with EGFP gene was visualized by fluorescence microscope.
Results: Pegfp-C1 could be availably transfected into BTMC. After being transfected, BTMC with the EGFP gene displayed an effective EGFP expression.
Conclusions: An EGFP expressing plasmid was used to transfected BTMC. Transfected cells show a stable EGFP expression in vitro. This labeling method will be profited for studying BTMC through genic level.
