Noninfectious uveitis is a significant sight-threatening problem in the working age population.Corticosteroids are typically used as the initial drug therapy.Steroids-resistant uveitis is a group of uveitis that was irresponsible or relapses frequently to routine corticosteroids treatment.The common types were Behcet uveitis,serpiginous choroidopathy,multifocal choroiditis with panuveitis,birdshot retinochoroidopathy,uveitis with juvenile idiopathic arthritis,sarcordosis,intermediate uveitis,relapsed Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease and sympathetic ophthalmia.Most of this kind of uveitis was need the combined therapy of corticosteroids and immunosuppressive agents or biologic agents.The common immunomodulatory drugs include T-cell inhibitors,antimetabolites and alkylating agents,the common biological agents include Targeting Lymphocyte subsets,tumor necrosis factor antagonists,interferons-α,interleukin receptors antagonists and other biologic agents.Given that immunomodulatory drugs have their individual differing indications and side effects,treatment should be individualized and closely monitored. |
