Objective: To evaluate the morphology changes after Fufang Xueshuantong treatment in branch retinal vein occlusion(BRVO).
Method: 72 eyes of 72 consecutive BRVO patients were randomly divided into Fufang Xueshuantong group and Danshen group. One month after treatment, best corrected visual acuity(BCVA),relative retinal vein diameter(d/D)and relative retinal hemorrhage area(a/A)were measured and analyzed.
Results:One month after treatment, the BCVA parameters were improved and d/D parameters were decreased in both groups respectively(P<0.01),and there were no inter-group differences of BCVA and d/D both before and after treatment. One month after treatment,a/A parameters were obviously decreased in both groups respectively(P<0.01).Although there were no inter-group difference before treatment, the a/A parameter was more obviously decreased in the Fufang Xueshuantong group(4.11±2.46)than in the Denshen group(8.36±2.73).
Conclusion:In the branch retinal vein occlusion eyes,Fufang Xueshuantong could effectively improve the visual acuity, decrease the diameter of enlarged retinal vein and promote the absorption of the preretinal hemorrhage.
