Purpose:To report quantitative changes in the anterior segment configuration with age and phakic intraocular lenses and determine safety criteria for phakic intraocular lenses.
Method:The study comprised normal subjects(175 eyes of 106 persons)and 18 eyes of 12 patients with implantable contact lens(ICL)in whom anterior chamber biometry was evaluated using 1310 nm wavelength optical coherence tomography(OCT).The horizontal and vertical diameter of the AC,the anterior chamber depth(ACD),Crystalline lens rise(CLR)were measured.
Results:One hundred and six subjects and 12 patients were included. The mean horizontal and vertical AC diameter was 11.36mm,11.51mm,respectively.The mean ACD was 2.89mm,The mean CLR was 0.15mm.The CLR ascend about 14.9μm every year. The mean ICL vault was 0.61mm.
Conclusion:The AS-OCT is capable of good image quality and visualization of the anatomical relationships in the anterior segment and evaluation the anterior segment surgery, particularly implantation of refractive lenses.
