Purpose:To report a case of giant conjunctival inclusion cysts on the atrophied eyeball. Method:A 24 years old famale patient with a 20 years history of ocular trauma but without any history of ocular surgery presented to us for a plastic cosmatic surgery.Atrophied eyeball,Limitation of ocular movement,exotropia as well as a giant conjunctival cysts were detected.The cyst was occupied almost entire bulbar conjunciva and transparent.There was no pigmentation of the conjunctiva or increased vascularity.Enucleation as well as removing the conjunctival cysts and implanting HA pedestal were performed.Histopathologic examination of the specimen was also performed.
Results:Histopathology confirmed Conjuncival Inclusion Cyst
Conclusions:Accidental inclusion of viable conjunctival epithelium under intact conjunctiva may lead to cyst formation.
