临床观察到停用皮质类固醇后眼压多可降低，表明在激素药理作用消失后，引起的房水排出系统的病理改变在一定程度上是可逆的，其正常功能可逐渐恢复或大部分恢复，能够满足维持正常眼压的房水排出能力，眼压恢复正常的时间除与药物的半衰期有关外，还与房水排出系统病理改变的程度、小梁网功能可逆性恢复的程度有关，也就是说皮质类固醇激素引起的病理改变，没有达到不可逆损害的程度，然而需要多长时间才能恢复到相对正常的功能状态、影响这种可逆的病理改变恢复小梁网功能的因素有哪些尚不清楚，使用降眼压药物迅速使眼压降至正常，对修复因皮质类固醇激素引起的病理改变有无帮助还需要大量的临床研究与观察。
