Purpose:To compare the High Order Aberration changes between Wavefront-guided IntraLASIK and Wavefront-guided Standard LASIK with microkeratome in High myopia patients
Method:195 eyes of 100 high myopia(>6.0D)patients underwent LASIK treatment using AMO/VISX Star S4 system. The femtosecond laser(60 kHz IntraLase)was used for flap creation in 85 eyes(43 patients)and Micrkeratome(Moria M2)where used for 110 eyes(57 Patients).Best Corrected Visual Acuity and Wavefront analysis were done before and after the treatment,at 1 week and 1,3,6 months. Both IntraLASIK and mechanical LASIK postoperatively induced HOA changes were compared either in overall RMS or in detail groupings.(trefoil, coma, spherical aberration)
Result:HOA changes differ slightly between wavefront-guided IntraLASIK and Wavefront-guided Standard LASIK with microkeratome groups.Mean IntraLASIK RMS increase is(0.2434±0.02)VS Standard wavefront RMS change(0.2259±0.09).Regarding the different groups of HOA,a trend of lowering of the SA in Intralase group was seen but the difference did not reach significant(p=0.078)。
Conclusion:In our study,Intralase(fematosecond laser)produce as much HOA or sometimes more HOA in our wave-front guided LASIK patients, although Intralase have beneficial effect in safety and refractive issues(spherical aberration),there are no beneficial effect seen in HOA production. |
